ChipTuning and what is behind it

Due to manufacturing tolerances and the unknown way in which a standard vehicle will be utilized, it must be set-up for a wide variety of operating scenarios. Therefore, the maximum efficiency and economy obtainable by the engine are not achieved.

By Chip tuning the effective power output (HP/Nm) is maximized over the total speed range and the fuel consumption is optimised. Thus increasing the driving dynamics i.e. non-stop driving fun! We adapt your car in accordance with your desires and your style of driving.

Using the latest technology we are able to carry out the software changes without a trace.

To understand the ChipTuning process, you need to know where and how the optimisation will take place. The optimisation will be exclusively performed in the ECU (Engine Control Unit), that means the engine itself will not be modified in any way, only the chip (EPROM) which contains the data used for the engine management. We take the master software from the electronic control unit (ECU) of your car if possible via the OBD interface, modify the characteristic diagrams and reload them. We also archive the original and Tuning software for safety. You can ask for it when ever you need it. This enables the customer to change back to the original software at any time.

That means for you as a customer:
  • guaranteed optimisation to your needs.
  • high reliability of the increase in power output.
  • high quality and customer satisfaction
  • Non-stop driving fun!
Our Software modifications are not type approved. Therefore modified vehicles may not be operated on public roads. Only for motor sports! Compare also the notes under Tuninginfo > Legislation. Against payment our software modifications can be homologated. We fulfill the requirements for exhaust and noise emissions.

Tuninginfo

All suitable and available settings and torque optimisations offered by us are on an individual basis, for all transmission types.
Depending upon build, equipment and the components within your vehicle the indicated data can vary slightly.

With further tuning e.g. cylinders head machining, increased compression, increased capacity, sport exhaust system with blower manifold etc., the engine management cannot, without optimization of the controller, recognise the changed operating conditions and react to them. This results in: insufficient or unsatisfying performance increases.
